One and Two Way ( Waffle ) Ribbed Slab Fire Resistance Upgrade

One and Two Way ( Waffle ) Ribbed Slab Fire Resistance Upgrade

Aithon SFS specialise in upgrading the fire resistance of Ribbed Slabs. The maximum resistance that can be achieved using the Aithon SFS Engineered design is REI 120.

The Aithon SFS process involves a site visit to collate the actual cover which exists on the individual members of the slab. Only when the actual cover is ascertained and after detailed analysis and thermos modelling can the fire engineers accurately design a fire resistance upgrade specific to the project.

During the Cover Survey, ASFS Fire Engineers can also carry out Adhesion testing on the substrate to confirm its suitability to receive the Aithon SFS system.

Benefits of Aithon SFS Coating System for ribbed slabs

Benefits of Aithon SFS Coating System for ribbed slabs

Lightweight, negligible extra loading on the structure.
Space Saving, 1mm maximum Thickness, very beneficial when refurbishing structures with low floor to ceiling heights.

No fixings or mesh required, unlike boarding or cementitious sprays. Often Structural Engineers prohibit fixings into ribs to maintain integrity.

Anti-carbonation Tests have confirmed that the coating system is a barrier to carbonation.
